Want to write letters to my Ellected Officials reguarding 2A
 

My father and I want to write letters to all our elected officials about 2a issues and keeping our rights, however, I am really bad at this stuff...

Does anyone have some type of an example/Template I could use???

As far as writing my own, I have no idea what to say and I don't want to come off like a bumbling idiot and do more harm than good...

If I can some up with a few letters, I think we are going to start writing every few months...

I'm tired of crying about the abuses to my right, but never doing anything except for paying my NRA dues and donating a bit more to them several times a year...

Then maybe I can get a few others to do the same...

I posted this to another gun forum and they recomended looking on a site called gunowners.org but I did not see any templates or anyhting of the like there... I figured you guys might have something...

I was just being tongue-in-cheek.

But honestly I have written hundreds of letters to all them overlord types...
and I have never recieved anything other than a form letter that is completely
not addressing the issue or some other propaganda junk.

But there are some websites that can help you on how to structure letters
to the overlords...I can't put them here as seeing the futility I deleted
my links that I had saved.

But if you want to know how to write these walking POS's there's tons of info
out there on the new on how to grovle properly...

It took some time but I went from thinking I could use logic and reason
to saying "F THOES CROOKS!"

If nothing else writing does make you feel a bit better untill you get their
non-responce.

I'm really not trying to be a jerk about this but it still ticks me off that we
have no voice....that is a fact...they only understand one kind of force or
another...anything that enriches them or threatens them IS the only way
to get through to them.

I can respect your opinion, but I think if you shoot down someones idea you should at least come up with 1 or 2 good ideas instead...

Not just a smart @ssed Retort just to one up a post, but something usefull...

Ok...here are a few things that would trump writing a letter that will be read by a admin assistant and thrown away..

print out "HOW TO FIND" sheets with links to patriot radio and websites. Make copies and hit your neighborhood door to door.

when you are done with that...go to Academy and buy as much ammo as you can afford. THAT will send a message loud and clear when the ATF tallies the amount of ammunition sold....


I'm not shooting the idea down, I'm just being real. These crooks don't care about what we have to say, otherwise, WE wouldnt be in THIS situation.

go register at thehighroad.org and search there. There are lots of people who have written pretty good piece to be sent or officials or local papers.

Personally I think a newspapers are a place to write to. We need to educate people by making logical fact based arguments. Are you going to convince everyone? No, not even close. But if we can reach even a few it is better than doing nothing as the lazy other posters have responded. I applaud your efforts to try to enact change before it is too late.

Here are my tips for you:

1. Stick to FACTS. These must be statistic and info from reputable and reliable sources.
2. Read what is written by antis so you can attack their argument and destroy it in a well thought out, professional letter.
3. Avoid excessive emotional appeals. This type of argument can work, but is very weak and will be torn apart by the opposition.
4. Create an outline of what you want to say and accomplish in your piece before you even start gathering info. This will be invaluable when you start writing.
5. Be prepared to spend a while doing the necessary research.
6. Have fun and be proud of you letter. This letter may not do a damn thing, but at least you tried and stood up for what you believe and were not ashamed of who you are and what you think. This is what America is all about. Do not surrender a cower in fear as others have suggested.

When you come up with something, PM me and I would be glad to help you edit it and make suggestions. I am no english scholar, but am pretty good at writing. GOOD LUCK!!!

There are a lot fo letters that have been written about allowing CCW on college campuses. Try read some of those to get an idea of how the letters are structured. google: allow weapons on campus or something like that and you should find a bunch.
